“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever!” 1 Chronicles 16:34 (NIV)
I have so much to be thankful for!
My amazing, loving, and studly husband of over ten years (yes, honey – you’ve still got it)! I’m honored to call him mine and that he calls me his. I am thankful for our love; a love that grows with each passing day. I’m thankful that he supports me in everything I do and that he still finds me “beautiful” after two children who leave me little time to “primp”.
My smart, sassy, and sweet daughter – my first born – and the fact that I have managed to keep her alive for almost three years is something to truly be thankful for considering I had no idea what I was doing when I became a mother (still don’t)! I’m thankful that I can count to three and she will stop what she is doing – usually! I’m thankful for these four words coming from her mouth – “I have to poo-poo!” after six months of potty training!
I’m thankful for my 14 month old son – yes, he’s still functioning too, though sometimes I can’t imagine how when I see his sister dragging him all over the house like some kind of teddy bear. I’m thankful that he is so strong and healthy when there was a period in my pregnancy that the doctors thought he may have a genetic disorder… HE DOES NOT! Praise the Lord!!
I am thankful to be a mother… what an incredible blessing and honor it is to be a mother! I am humbled that God saw me up for the challenge… I remind myself of this everyday when I feel like I may lose it because I wonder if I am qualified for the position!
I’m thankful for coffee! And it’s magical effect to keep me functioning in the morning! I’m thankful for my house, my car, clothes, my shoes, my shower – though I feel like I don’t have nearly as much time to utilize it as I once did – hey, I’m just being honest!!
Yes, I have realized in my 30 years that nothing is too small to be thankful for. I don’t want to take anything for granted because there is so much of the world that would do anything to have clothes and shoes, a house and shower… yes, I have decide to fully embrace all the blessings in my life acknowledging that my God is able to provide all my needs according to His riches and glory (Philippians 4:19)
